The 10 most useless functions in smartphones

Today's smartphones bring a multitude of hidden functions and options. Some of them are very practical, and make our lives simpler. Others, however, are far from useful, and appear to have been integrated solely as a publicity stunt. A third category encompasses theoretically good but extremely misused options. Today I prepared a Top 10 Most Unnecessary Smartphone FeaturesAnd you will see that this is a plague that has spread to almost all manufacturers. With good intentions hell is full!

10. Oppo N1 O-Touch-Panel

Oppo N1 has some useful functions, as well as O-Touch-Panel. The touch-sensitive area on the back of the device can barely be recognized. By using it, any movement beyond the 4×4 centimeter field is lost to nothing and frustrates the most patient user. In addition, the size of the device prevents rational use of the function, and it will be necessary to be juggler to use it, balance the phablet and avoid a cramp in the hand. O-Touch-Panel has only one advantage: it can be deactivated easily. A fiasco!

9. HTC One max digital scanner

One more control function on the back, and the problem repeats itself: good idea, lousy accomplishment. The One max digital scanner is far from optimal. Slow, unreliable and choking, the function would need more testing and refinement before it was released. And as a cake icing, we still have the impossibility of unlocking the device with just one gesture, as in the case of the scanner on the iPhone 5s. Worst impossible.

<h2 id=8. Galaxy S3 and S4 Kung Fu Screenshots

Samsung has revolutionized gesture control on smartphones, but not without launching some weird functions, to say the least. Make a screenshot by passing the side of the evil flat on the screen one of them. Samsung developers must have watched too much of the three Karat Kid movies to create another exercise for Daniel Sam: paint the fence, wash the ground, make a screenshot In addition to looking like a Tai Chi movement, control still The downside is that it doesn't work every time. Ball out of Sammy.

7. Augmented Reality Effect for Xperia Z1 and Z2 videos

Augmented Reality can be a very interesting function when adding useful information, but who needs effects with fish, aquarium plants or dinosaurs? Did the developers of Z1 and Z2 have nothing better to do with technology? The only public imaginable for this is in the range of 9 to 12, and I don't think any child has a Sony flagship.

6. HTC One M8 Photo Stickers

Similar function offers the camera of HTC One M8: from a long list, we can choose useless objects and stick them as stickers in the previously made photos. Among others, you can add sunglasses, cowboy hats, gold chains, skull belts and gas masks to the victims who posed for the photo. Infantile, superfluous and in bad taste. Need to say more?

5. Face Recognition Unlock

One of the most meaningless safety functions ever integrated into an appliance. Who would like to unlock your smartphone with the face? In addition to not being as secure as the default or password, this option doesn't work in the dark, and can easily be bypassed (with a photo of the owner, for example). Typical idea of who watched too many futuristic movies.

4. Galaxy S4 Eye Scroll

Who throws a lot of news can also make more mistakes. It is no coincidence that Samsung appears more often on our list. The S4 arrived full of innovative features, including the superfluous page scroll with the eyes. Good idea, but it was implemented too early. A few more tests would show how the option can frustrate the user by its erratic operation.

3. Galaxy S4 Sound & Shot

Again for Samsung: The S4 camera app has brought many important innovations, but Sound & Shot is not one of them. Whoever takes a picture with this mode will have not only one picture, but also a 6-second soundtrack that wants to reproduce the atmosphere of the moment. Needless little.

2. Take photos with Wiko motion sensor

Maybe you haven't heard of Wiko, a manufacturer that is growing in Europe, despite the completely useless function that their smartphones bring: that of activating the camera shutter by passing the device's motion sensor. Have you ever imagined holding the camera in photo position with one hand and having to pass the other through the sensor? The instability cause shaky and poor quality photos. Also, any movement could trigger the shutter when the camera app is open. Total disaster.

1. Nokia X Knock Code

LG released the latest KnockOn feature with the LG G2, and many manufacturers have started copying it, including Nokia. After testing the Nokia X, we were positively surprised to see that it was possible to unlock the device with two beats on the screen – until we realized that it can be tapped anywhere on the device: the display, the back, the sides of the device is always on. It can even be unlocked by accident when it's in your pants pocket. Bug or function? No one knows.
