The private profile on Instagram is one of the ways to escape from people you don't want to follow you on the network. When locking the account, new followers all need to be approved by the user to have access to the photos, which helps to eliminate someone you do not want to see your publications. To avoid inconvenience, the option known as Finstagram, Priv or Dix, has also been used by young people to post "ugly" photos, away from the "perfect" editions that have become part of the app.

To configure, just go to the "Options" menu, indicated by three dots in the upper right corner of your profile page, and slide to "Private account". Automatically, anyone who wants to see your photos will have to wait for approval.

2. Mute friends in the feed

The newest way to avoid annoying people appearing in your account the button "Mute". The feature, which is still being released to users of the social network, silences the publications of a specific user in the feed, which makes the posts of the profile hidden in the page appear more on the main page of the app.

According to Instagram, the profile is muted in the action warning. To configure, just click on the menu indicated by three dots in the upper right corner of an image of the person or brand and select "Mute posts". After the process, to view any account publication it is necessary to open the user's individual page.

Just like in the "Mute" for feed posts, Instagram also allows you to silence stories from the main tab icon. The action makes the user no longer appear in the sequence of Stories when viewing the posts of all the people he follows.

To make the adjustment, just locate the account history icon chosen in the top tab of the feed, where all the temporary posts of those you follow are. When you find it, press the button and click "Silence (username)". To deactivate the function, simply slide the Stories icons to the end and press again to "Reactivate the sound".

If you want to see the stories of everyone you follow, but prefer that some followers do not see what you post, Instagram offers a solution. In the "Account" section of the "Options" menu, go to "History settings" and then tap "Hide history from".

On the next page, search for the name of the user you want to deprive of posts in the search bar at the top of the screen. When configuring this feature, the selected user will continue to follow you and follow the posts in the feed and in the profile, but will not see any more photos, videos or live streams present in the Stories. The function can also be activated via the web version of Instagram.

Used mainly by artists or people who have a lot of followers on the social network, the answer permission defines whether users can or cannot answer their stories. There is an option to release the function for everyone, only for those who are following or deactivating completely.

The setting is available in the options of the app: in "Settings of the story", choose the option "Allow reply to messages". When disabling the function, the message icon will not appear on the screen when someone views your story.

6. Block sharing of stories

Another function of the "History settings" tab is the sharing permission. Instagram now allows others to share photos and videos from a user’s story in their app messages or Facebook Stories.

To lock the tool, go to "Options" and tap "History settings". On the next page, determine the settings for "Sharing". There is a key for messages and one for Facebook. By default, the release to place on the other social network is disabled.

7. Comment control

For those who do not want to receive comments from intruders in the posts, it is an option to escape boring users with the comment control setting. It is possible to free up space for everyone, for those you follow and your followers, only for those who follow, or just for followers.

The feature is available under "Options"> "Settings"> "Comments"> "Allow comments from". By tapping the adjustment icon, Instagram displays how many people you have in each ideal category to analyze how many users the resource is released to.

As in the previous item, the comments tab can be customized to avoid inconvenient messages. In this case, the configuration is more specific and causes determined users to be blocked.

In order not to see that they have been blocked, blocked comments are visible to those who post them, but invisible to other people who pass through the post. To activate just go to "Options"> "Settings"> "Comments"> "Block comments from".

9. Show activity status

A feature that many usually disable in WhatsApp is the "last seen". To offer privacy to the user, Instagram also offers a similar function, to remove the activity status of messages.

By default, Instagram Direct displays when you were last online in the app. When you deactivate the tool, all the status of the other accounts will be invisible. To configure, go to "Options", tapping on the three-point button in the upper right corner of the profile tab, and slide down to "Show activity status".

Ultimately, if you don't want a user to have access to any of your profile information and don't even find your account in search, Instagram offers the blocking function. The feature also allows the blocked person to mention you in comments or view likes and messages you leave in other accounts.

To block someone, go to the profile of the person or brand, tap on the menu indicated by three dots in the upper right corner and press "Block". Before completing the action, the application asks if it wants to continue with the process, since it is an extreme function but can be reversed whenever it wants.
