Teen makes archaeological discovery using Google Maps

According to the NY Post, a Canadian boy made an important and historic discovery using only the images available on the Google Maps service.

William Gadoury, 15, would have found traces of what a lost Mayan city would be like when he realized that ancient peoples built their settlements according to the stars.

“I was really surprised and excited when I realized that the brightest stars in the constellations matched the largest Mayan cities,” he told the publication.

In addition, some images have revealed a square shape that scientists believe is a Mayan pyramid.
