Now that the new iPhone SE has already been revealed, the eyes (and the rumors) have turned to the successors of the iPhones 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, which are expected for the second half of this year.
To add even more fuel to the fire, the YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, in partnership with leaker Max Weinbach, shared what they claim to be a technical scheme of the “IPhone 12 Pro Max” based on alleged leaked CAD designs.
The main features of the scheme reflect what was already speculated: the new flagship will share some details of the design of the new iPad Pro, starting with the deployment of LiDAR scanner in the rear camera system.
To house the larger 6.7-inch OLED screen, the device may be slightly wider and taller, in addition to the possible reduction of bezels (distance between the screen and the edge of the device) for an impressive 1.55mm (compared to 2.52mm on the iPhone 11 Pro Max).
They also mirror the rumors that the new iPhone will have a 7.4mm thickness – slightly thinner than the 11 Pro Max, with 8.1mm. In contrast, the bulge of the camera system would be slightly larger: 1.26mm, instead of 1.21mm.
A peculiarity in the design, according to the leaker, is that the front cutout would be the same size as the current generation of iPhones; however, Weinbach suggests that Apple will reduce the size of the notch, but that these details were not finalized when the CAD was done, which is a possibility. Anyway, the diagram shows a considerably smaller front cutout, offering even more space at the top of the display (menu bar).
On the sides of the device, the antenna lines may be thicker, a change probably attributed to the 5G adoption. However, at least a questionable change is the transposition of the SIM card tray to the left side of the device.
Next to the “old” space for the SIM, there is a new cutout that looks a lot like a Smart Connector, but like all the features mentioned above, nothing is confirmed. In fact, rumors about the deployment of the Smart Connector on iPhones have been around for five years, since the launch of the original iPad Pro.
Other, smaller features indicate that there will be less of a hole in the speaker line (on the right side), changing the on / off button (a few inches down) and new color options that may include light blue, purple and light orange .
