Sygic updates its offline browsing app with support for CarPlay

As promised, the Sygic today updated the offline maps application Car Navigation: Maps & Traffic, adding support for CarPlay.

Sygic’s app is the third to support connectivity with CarPlay in Brazil; last month, Google Maps and Waze also became compatible with Apple’s vehicular solution.

When Sygic announced the news last July, we showed an image of how the navigation app would appear on the vehicle’s screen. In CarPlay, the app projects the directions and the travel route with turn-by-turn information and drivers can control the software features from the buttons on the vehicle’s steering wheel.

The Car Navigation: Maps & Traffic app is available for free to download from the App Store. After seven days of testing, the user must purchase one of the packages within the application to continue accessing all features premium navigation.

Sygic’s lifetime licenses are available starting at $ 16 (about R $ 60) for South America and include features such as road speed limits, voice-guided navigation, fuel prices, route sharing and traffic information.
