Super Mario Run has grossed $ 60 million; App Store accounts for 65% of revenue

The game Super Mario Run, from Nintendo, has already earned more than $ 60 million around the world since its launch, according to data from Sensor Tower released by the magazine Variety.

The game was launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016, the same year that the iPhones 7/7 Plus, AirPods and Apple Watch Series 2 were presented. Also according to the data from Sensor Tower, about 77% of the game's millionaire revenue came from the App Store, only 23% came from Google Play. However, the review company said that the game was made available for the Android platform six months after the launch for iOS, which is not entirely true (Super Mario Run was officially launched on Google Play in March 2017, about three months after the iOS launch).

However, other data from the same company indicates that Android slightly increased its participation in Super Mario Run. In the first quarter of this year, the revenue obtained on the Google platform reached 35%, with the App Store responsible for 65% of revenues from Nintendo with the game.

With regard to revenue by region, approximately 43% of revenue came from the USA, while 17% came from Japan; the rest, from other markets.
