Study shows that the ideal price for an Apple tablet on the market is $ 600

In a survey of 753 customers (split between Mac and PC users), Retrevo proved that most people (64%) would only migrate from Windows to an Apple tablet if its price was less than $ 600. In contrast, a large part of the plantation Applemanacos (41%) opted for the higher price range: they would pay more than US $ 800 for the product.

Retrevo Research - Apple Tablet

Due to the fact that interest in lower prices on the side of PC users has outweighed any choice made by Mac users, it is clear that the best way for Apple with this supposed product to adopt the lowest possible price, making it another accessible way for people to be interested in your platform in the same way as the Mac mini. Furthermore, if the price of such a tablet was really $ 600, its manufacturer could even attract people who are currently considering buying a netbook.

This is noteworthy, as the study also served to conclude that 36% of PC users consider purchasing a netbook next year, while 38% of current Mac users intend to do so in the same period. About 40% of iPhone owners are also interested in the same product category, but they could all be potential buyers of an Apple tablet, if such a product already existed in their line.
