Studio creates conceptual short film shot entirely with the iPhone

We have already commented several times on audiovisual productions created with the help of the iPhone, which has become a tool both for those with a creative mind – such as the duo of directors Julien Vallée and Eve Duhamel (from the studio Vallée Duhamel), who created the short film “Glacier“ using only the iPhone XS Max.

The team had been hired by Apple in mid-2019 to create a short film that would be shown on Today at Apple (series of creative sessions that take place in Apple stores around the world). Now, the short – produced by Partizan and Sailor Productions – came to life.

Check out:

In addition to snow, the short also “defies” gravity and works very well with the question of perspective (which is what the production is about). On the technical side, as we said, it was shot entirely with the iPhone XS Max using the lenses Moment and the FiLMiC Pro filming app.

To bring the scenes to life, the team built a glacier (with some details reminiscent of the Coliseum) in a studio. Visual effects artists, on the other hand, transformed the images to create the illusion of movement in “zero gravity”, as you can see behind the scenes of the production:

The Cupertino giant exhibited the short during the iPhone’s technical recording sessions Today at Apple in several stores. It is worth remembering that the Vallée Duhamel studio had already collaborated with the company in previous campaigns, including a series of iPad Pro ads.
