StartNinja temporarily silences your Mac at startup

There are those who find it charming, coolIt is fun to give the adjective you want, but it is a fact that, in certain situations, listening to the initialization sound (startup chime) on the Mac can be embarrassing in a library, for example.

StartNinja, from AllVu:

StartNinja for Mac OS X

Free of charge, this utility silences your Mac at startup, returning the volume to its original state as soon as it is ready to be used. Unfortunately, the program doesn't only work on iMacs or machines that have speakers connected.

StartNinja requires Mac OS X 10.7 or higher and costs absolutely nothing. For those who need it, superb; Auto Mute is another option, but its development does not seem to be very constant.
