Last week, Samsung revealed that the Galaxy S9 and S9 + would be upgraded to Android 10 only in March. The announcement, made through the "Samsung Members" application, certainly left the owners unsatisfied, given that both were in the beta program since November 2019 and that the official release should happen this month.
Fortunately, for some unknown reason, the South Korean "went over" its own schedule, having started distributing the stable version of the OneUI 2.0 interface based on Android 10 for the Galaxy S9 and S9 +.
This update is currently available for download via OTA in Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, but only for models running Android Pie. Owners who were part of the beta program have yet to receive the new update, which is expected to change in the coming days.
OneUI 2.0, which weighs between 1.8GB and 2GB, also delivers the January security patch. In addition to the standard features of Android 10, Samsung has also added an enhanced dark mode to the system, new navigation gestures, native screen recorder and improved privacy and notification control.
When the update arrives on your device, check the amount of battery available to avoid disconnections during the process, we recommend at least 50%. In addition, for security, it is also advisable to perform a backup of your data.
The Galaxy S9 and S9 + are not the best smartphones from Samsung in 2020, but they can still be a good option for those looking for a top of the line with competent specifications and cameras. Check out the complete hardware below:
