There are games that conquer the players from the first moment. In general, this has a lot to do with the effectiveness of its concept, its graphic, or its theme, which can be fascinating. Spirits is a bit of all that we mentioned, although the idea itself is not the most original.
As already said, this app is based on the same idea as Lemmings, meaning little men must be driven to their destination. These little ghosts can actually be used by players to reach a goal. At Lemmings, this was limited to digging, climbing, or avoiding obstacles.
Spirits works in a similar way: puppets fall apart and must be guided to a vertex at the end of the level. And the wind plays a decisive role, as it can make spirits reach their destination or spin. The wind may, however, be responsible for eliminating the ghosts they may end up in fatal thorns. But they also have skills: they turn into clouds or even blow other ghosts in pre-established directions. This can all make it easier to overcome obstacles to move from one level to another. As it turns out, Spirits owes a lot to its 90s predecessor, but it nevertheless introduces news: the game is not easy! The difficulty grows rapidly as they reach new levels. On the one hand, it is necessary to save as many spirits as possible, on the other, to collect all the seedlings distributed by the levels in order to complete them. Getting it all resolved is not as easy as you might imagine.
Conclusion:That Spirits is inspired by old Lemmings, no one has any doubt. But its all-sophisticated graphics and operation make it a very interesting and entertaining game. The game absorbs the player quickly and it is really hard to get out of the screen after you start playing.
Screen & Controls
The controls are very comfortable and simple, well configured for this game genre. Spirits move alone, but they must be directed and guided by certain special actions. This type of control works very well, but you will have to be very fast at times to save the ghosts. Another commendable aspect is the Spirits chart. Everything is displayed in cartoon style and reminds us of something like Pixar animations. Just take a look at our screenshots to give you a better idea of what we are talking about. The design is really very original and the music has been chosen to fit perfectly with the whole.
Speed & Stability
Spirits did not crash at any time during our tests. And no stability issues, either on the Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy Tab. Everything worked smoothly. There was a certain slowness in the tablet during the animations, but nothing serious.
Price / Performance Ratio
Spirits can be purchased from the Play Store for 2.30 or $ 6.10. The price is fair enough, as the game proved to be quite convincing.
