Special Event: iPhones 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max Have Three Cameras and Super Retina XDR Screen

Once again, the rumors were correct: for the first time, we have iPhones Pro. More precisely, we are talking about the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max iPhones.

These are, according to Phil Schiller (Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing), the most sophisticated iPhones ever made by the company. The stainless steel frame, while the rear is made of blasted glass that incorporates the shoulder of the (three) cameras in both handsets. So four colors: midnight green, Space gray, silver and gold.

The 11 Pro has the same OLED screen size as 5.8 inches XS, while the 11 Pro Max has the 6.5 inches iPhone XS Max. The screens, however, are Super Retina XDR, having many of the same technologies found in Pro Display XDR, such as 2,000,000: 1 contrast, up to 1,200 nits Brightness and energy efficiency 15% higher. We also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

The devices have the same chip A13 Bionic iPhone 11, with a lot of improvements. Two of them were highlighted in the presentation: even more optimized machine learning on the new CPU, with its own accelerators that can do up to 1 track of operations per second. The second is energy efficiency: there are 8.5 billion 7-nanometer transistors that use less energy than before, with four low-energy cores that combine with the other four high-performance ones.

In terms of battery life, iPhones 11 Pro are (supposedly) champions: Apple says the smaller model lasts four hours more than the iPhone XS while the iPhone 11 Pro Max lasts five hours more iPhone XS Max. And raise your hands: we have a new box fast charger, entitled to USB-C tip and 18W of power. Nothing has been said of bilateral loading, however it seems that the feature was actually canceled last minute, a pity.

About the infamous cooktop on the back of the devices, well, he justifies it: three cameras, all 12MP: a telephoto, a wide angle and an ultra wide angle, which guarantee up to 4x optical zoom (considering the 0.5x zoom of the ultra wide angle, that is). You can capture photos from the same spot simultaneously with all lenses.

There is a new feature for cameras, which will be released in the coming months with a software update. Called Deep fusion, it uses machine learning to capture nine images in different exposures before you even press the capture button. In less than a second, then the device selects the best pixels from each capture and gives you the best result.

The three rear cameras of the iPhones 11 Pro capture 4K at 60 frames per second and the statements presented by the company, captured by filmmakers and videomakers Professional, really impressive, with vivid colors and an ability to capture scenes in all formats and lighting. Of course, a smooth transition can be made between the three cameras during shooting, and Apple has a Audio zoom to capture sounds more accurately.

Professionals will also be able to enjoy an entire ecosystem of third party apps by taking advantage of new cameras. A new version of FiLMiC Pro, for example, has a viewfinder which allows the filmmaker to get a view of the three cameras at the same time, and you can capture two of them simultaneously. The app will be available on the App Store by the end of the year.

As extras not mentioned in the keynote, is a new U1 chip, the fastest Face ID with support for varying distances and more angles, LTE reaching 1.6Gbps and the incorporation of Wi-Fi 6.

The iPhone 11 Pro (and iPhone 11, too) will, of course, have a new line of cases, including transparent models that expose its beautiful design. The iPhone 11 Pro from $ 1,000while the 11 Pro Max comes out from $ 1,100. Their pre-sale in the United States will begin this Friday (13/9), and the release will be next Friday (20/9).

It's worth noting that the iPhone XR stays on the line, starting at $ 600, as well as iPhone 8, starting at $ 450. The XS and XS Max iPhones, in turn, died as well as the iPhone 7.
