In order to offer more options in its smartphone portfolio, Apple today announced a simpler (but not less attractive) edition of its main product. O iPhone Xr features attributes that confirm the rumors raised in recent months, in particular its screen (6.1 ″ LCD) and various colors.
Although it has appeal to the young audience, without the same refinement of its little star brother, the new device has its share of exclusivity. Highlight for the screen "Liquid Retina", LCD enhanced over the iPhones 8/8 Plus which, applied to the design of the iPhone X / Xs, also end-to-end and has great True Tone function for those who are bothered by some particularities of OLED screens.
And of course, for simplicity, as we wrote above, we also have to address the decisions made to cheapen the pussy. Things like putting aside the 3D Touch, which Apple says it replaced on iOS with an equivalent system called Haptic Touch. Furthermore, it was only possible to give this model classification IP67 in water resistance, the same as the previous generation and different from the IP68 found in the iPhones Xs and Xs Max.
However, the internal hardware brings the processor A12 Bionic, so we can expect optimum performance from the iPhone Xr. We do not know, however, if we have the internal differences previously corroborated, with respect to the RAM between this new lower cost device and the “first line” model. As Apple does not present this data, we may have to wait for a teardown of the iFixit company or something like that.
In the cameras, we have a single rear 12MP lens, wide angle, 6-element f / 1.8, with larger sensor and True Tone flash. J the front assembly follows the same model as the iPhones Xs and Xs Max, enabling the Face ID without distinctions in capture quality and performance as well as the other iOS features connected to the front camera in terms of image capture.
The iPhone Xr has a battery life of 1h30 longer than the iPhone 8 Plus and also supports higher speed 4G networks, in addition to dual-YES (a physical and an electronic). Its six available colors (black, white, red, Yellow, coral and blue) are anodized in the 7000 series aluminum case, of the same material used in the construction of the iPhones 6s, 7 and 8, in addition to the Apple Watch.
In the United States, the pre-sale of the iPhone Xr begins in October 19, with sales beginning one week later, in October 26. The entry price will be $ 749, with 64GB internal capacity. There will also be models of 128GB and 256GB, per $ 799 and $ 899, respectively.
