Babbel is a language learning app available for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones. The platform promises to simplify the task with a dynamic, intuitive and fun exercise system with lessons that exercise the user's pronunciation, writing and vocabulary. The free download, as well as the first lessons it offers, but to access the full content I need to make a subscription. Prices range from R $ 39.90 (monthly plan) to R $ 219.90 (annual plan).

The service offers a multilingual version as well as language-specific versions, such as Spanish. There are options for English, French, German and Italian, for example. The tutorial below was done on an iPhone device, but also serves on devices with Google's operating system, as well as other versions of Apple software.

Step 1. Install Babbel on your phone from the dnetc page. When opening the app, go to "Home" to choose the language you want to learn. If you download the Spanish-specific version of Babbel, you can proceed directly to the next step;

Step 2. Tap "Create an account or sign in". Choose from "Email Address", "Google" or "Facebook" to access the app. When you log in, you will be immediately directed to the start screen – in this case, the first lesson of the chosen language. Note that the app's navigation bar is at the bottom of the screen;

Step 3. Before starting the lesson, explore the features of Babbel. In "Courses", you can choose what kind of lessons you want (beginner, intermediate or advanced levels, grammar, extras, words and phrases). Also in this section are news such as, for example, a Spanish holiday course in Mexico and language lessons;

Step 4. Choose the desired course. For this tutorial, we chose the "Beginner Course", but the dynamics are the same for the others. Tap the first lesson and then "Start" to start learning;

Step 5. With each lesson, you will hear the words or expressions and have to repeat them orally or in writing. Completing the lessons allows you to advance to the following exercises. In this way, the user trains pronunciation and vocabulary at the same time;
