Sony reveals Xperia Pro 5G with HDMI input for video creators

Last Monday, February 24, Sony held a virtual conference to announce the newest model in the Xperia smartphone line: the Xperia Pro 5G. The announcement was made in this way thanks to the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, ​​due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Still in development, it has the ability to connect to the internet 5G supported technology milimeter wave, which provides greater speed by using a higher frequency range, between 24 and 60 GHz. In addition, it also has an HDMI input so that it is possible to connect the smartphone to any DSLR camera or professional camcorder, transmitting video data during its recording to a server or cloud via 5G connections.

In the broadcast, it was also said that the Xperia Pro supports professional streaming workflows thanks to the HDMI connector and the 5G mmwave. The aim of the new smartphone is that content creators have a device capable of transmitting in 4K without any delay or "choking", also functioning as a monitor and a capture device.

The camera set is exactly the same as the Xperia 1 II, with a triple rear lens scheme with 12 megapixels each, with a 24mm lens, f / 1.7 aperture and 82 degree field of view; a 70mm lens with a f / 2.4 aperture with 34 degree field of view and a 16mm lens with a f / 2.2 and 124 degree aperture. The front camera has 8 megapixels, f / 2.0 aperture and 84 degree field of view.

Its design also resembles the Xperia 1 II, with a 6.5-inch 4K HDR screen. As for your specifications, the Sony Xperia PRO comes with a Snapdragon 865 processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage and a 6.5-inch HDR display, with 21: 9 frame in OLED format. The 4,000 mAh battery with support for wireless charging, Gorilla Glass 6 coated screen, protection against water and dust thanks to IP68 certification and Android 10 operating system.

Sony didn’t say when the Xperia Pro it will be available and neither will its price, but the expectation that new details will be revealed soon.
