Solutions for the most recurring Moto X Play issues

1. Problem with calls with Moto X Play

Several users reported problems with calls with Moto X Play. The user listens perfectly to the call, but the person on the other line hears nothing unless the call is made by speakerphone. This issue seems to be present among devices that have been upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.


Our reader @Paulo Drea says it has solved the problem with the HF Button Widget app, which uses the headset to activate your Moto X Play sound system. 2. Screen rotation issue in some applications

Some users are reporting issues with screen rotation in certain applications. In these cases, the display rotates horizontally sometimes and the app remains stuck in portrait format. Restarting the device may resolve these issues, although this solution may be temporary in most cases.


If you are experiencing this problem, restart the device in safe mode by pressing the power button, and then press and hold Power off. Click OK when Restart in Safe Mode appears. If the problem persists on restarting, go to the applications installed on the devices and remove applications that were installed days or hours before the problem arose. Often an application with suspicious behavior can interfere with system operation.

3. Problems recognizing "Ok Google" command

There is an incompatibility between Moto Voice and Google Now, especially when both are enabled on the device. Here's how it works: If Google Now is enabled on your device, Moto Voice doesn't work very well. This is because both services use the device's microphone simultaneously, and this versatility is not well conducted on Moto X Play.

We recommend that you choose only one voice service, in which case we indicate that this is Google Now. Moto Voice is nothing more than Google services but with the ability to customize the initial activation command. Make sure through the Google Now settings if the language you set for the service is Brazilian Portuguese, as this may also interfere with system usability.

4. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues

Problems with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are common on new devices. Therefore, if you are having trouble receiving the Moto X Play's Wi-Fi signal or Bluetooth connectivity, follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

6. Performance or overheating issues

It is normal for problems to occur with Moto X Play software during use, even though the device's OS is virtually pure. However, some users have encountered overheating problems when the device is performing simple tasks such as social networking, for example.


The Snapdragon 615 that packs the Moto X Play is a very competent processor, so these performance issues are probably related to the device software. Thus, a future software update may resolve Moto X Play performance issues.

<p>Here are two issues reported by Moto X Play users: Charging becomes slow at times and the battery level gets stuck at a certain percentage. Here are some tips for solving these problems.</p>
<p>There is a misconception among users of the device about the power of chargers sent by Motorola. Moto X Play has the 15W power Turbo Charger in the box, unlike the same 25W power charger found in Moto X Style and Moto X Force. Therefore, the loading speed is only slightly higher than other chargers on the market. So, don't expect your device to be half charged in 30 minutes.</p>
