Social Club, an app with a similar Instagram interface that lets you post marijuana-associated images, has been banned from the App Store, the iPhone app store (iOS). Launched on July 15, 2019, the app has been downloaded 455,000 times including Android version downloads and has become a dedicated drug space without any censorship.
The platform's user community, however, has begun sharing images of a number of other banned substances, some for sale, as well as weapons, racist content and pornography. The program was among the five most downloaded applications in the United States in the Apple store.

Created by a partnership between Joshua Otten, co-founder of the cannabis brand PRHBTD, and rapper Berner, the app was intended to be a social network for marijuana users, becoming an alternative to advertising and content associated with the subject, which is banned in Instagram. There were even plans to create a marijuana channel. The program, however, promoted itself as a "zero censorship" space, which may have been inviting to inappropriate content.

The problem happened overnight, according to Berner, who hypothesized it was an attack. Despite being similar to Instagram in interface, the app does not have any kind of moderation for the content it receives. The rapper explained that the application is adding an image recognition system to help identify and remove problematic content.
