Snap launches fun camera app for macOS and Windows

It's been a while since we talked about the Snap perhaps because the downfall of its flagship product, the Snapchat, was as fast as its ascent. But the company is still struggling to stay relevant, and its youngest in this movement is a fun camera app for Macs and PCs.

The application Snap camera has a unique proposition: bring to computers the gigantic catalog of Snapchat Lenses, the famous (or infamous) augmented reality-based personalization layers that transform your face with dog ears, rainbow vomit, wreath or whatever. The more your imagination conjures up. There are over 250,000 lenses included in the app, from the classics created by Snap's own team to those invented by users in Lens Studio.

Unlike Apple's Photo Booth, Snap Camera does not have its own interface instead, it works as a plugin which, in turn, works on a number of internet applications and services. That way, you can apply the fun effects to conversations on Skype or Google Hangouts, Twitch broadcasts, or YouTube videos FaceTime, as you might expect, didn't get in the way.

Snap Camera can be downloaded for free from its official website and does not require a Snapchat account to use. Who will test?
