According to sources DigiTimes, Siliconware Precision Industries would be discussing with Apple the possibility of participating in the production of the A6 processor, Ma's next generation of mobile chips.

The information obtained says that representatives of the Cupertino company would have visited SPIL's production lines and discussed opportunities for cooperation. The Asian company denies such rumors.

Apple A5 processor

Two A4 make an A5, but do I make two A5 an A6? (Now repeat this 3x faster.)

It is possible that the A6 is a processor quad-core and it was already being manufactured experimentally by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), with its large-scale production expected in the second quarter of 2012 (in time for the iPad 3?).
