ShowMyPC
ShowMyPC It is a natively developed application for Windows, but has a simpler version developed in JAVA for Linux and Mac.
It makes use of SSH protocol to control computer and let itself be manipulated by a remote computer.
How to use on Linux
For systems on Windows the ShowMyPC works as a JAVA webapplication, so install JAVA on your Linux to know How to install JAVA on Ubuntu and derivatives go to this article. Done that just access this link and allow JAVA to run when requested. 
Send the same link to the computer you want to control so that your computer can be controlled click Show My PC Now A password will be generated, the same you must hand over person who will control your computer so that she can access your desktop.
If you want to control a remote computer click View Remote PC and enter the password you receive from the computer to be controlled.
Note: The program has no chat system, so you will have to pass the passwords to each other through another means, such as Skype, Hangouts or Facebook for example.
