“SEGA Forever” initiative brings classic developer titles to iOS and Android, such as Altered Beast and Phantasy Star II

When we are down, nothing better than reliving our times of glory to raise our morale, right? Well, I don't know if this really works, but certainly a game developer who lives nostalgically in our hearts, the SEGA, is trying to put this plan into practice when launching the initiative "SEGA Forever".

After getting clear with Sonic The Hedgehog, the developer also made available four other games that can be downloaded for free: Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon and Phantasy Star II.

As I already hinted, these games can be * downloaded * for free; but they are freemiumbecause they have advertisements that appear several times during the game and, to get rid of them, I need to pay $ 2. All titles will be compatible with MFi controls and will also come with a sticker pack for iMessage (on iOS 10 or later).

The company made a point of stating that the games were fully adapted for mobile devices, but maintains the gaming experience that we already know. There are still indications that the games will also reach the tvOS, but for now only good old Sonic is available for the set-top box of Ma.

See below the very “retr” video made by SEGA to promote the project:

The initiative does not bring only these games, no: soon, we will see monthly painting by the application stores (both iOS and Android) several SEGA titles originally released for various consoles like Genesis, Dreamcast, Master System and others. The titles that have already been cited by the company on the official website of “SEGA Forever” were: Virtua Tennis, Shinobi, Vectorman, Crazy Taxi, Super Hang-On and Ecco the Dolphin.

So, if you were like that child who played Mega Drive only at the home of his cousins or classmates, take the opportunity to download the games that are already on the App Store or Google Play and listen to that iconic “SEEEEEGAAA” at the beginning. 💕
