Space gray, silver and gold. This has been Apple's color base for its products for years. It is true that, from time to time, some others came into play as rose gold, black matte, shiny black and red. But the infallible crack (since the launch of the iPhone 5s, which even extended to MacBooks) is this.
Before the launch of the iPhone X, we saw several rumors talking about a golden model (blush gold, copper gold choose the name), in addition to the traditional space gray and silver, of course. Because the color did not come differently from the iPhones 8/8 Plus, which do have the three options.
But look at it: today, documents from the Federal Communications Commission (“Anatel of the USA”) confirmed that Apple intended to launch a golden iPhone X. The photos that illustrate this post leave no doubt!
The iPhone in question was sent by Apple to the FCC in July last year, so that the government agency could analyze the device and give its approval for the commercialization after the launch, in September (as it always happens). That is, Apple was really willing to sell a golden iPhone X (after all, he sent it to the FCC) and simply gave up on the idea for some reason.
What would that reason be? No one knows for sure, other than the company's own executives. It probably has to do with some production difficulty in the device with that specific color. O MacRumors wisely raised the hypothesis that the problem may have been in the stainless steel structure (after all, there are golden 8/8 Plus iPhones, but they have the frame made of aluminum).
It remains to be seen whether Apple intends to launch this color for now (as it did when launching the red color for iPhones 8/8 Plus this week) or whether it will wait for the launch of the new generation to, again, commercialize a golden model on its flagship.
