Garupa is a mobility app that works similar to Uber, 99 and other similar apps, in which the user must inform his location on the map and wait for a partner driver (called «garuper») to transport him to his destiny. Among the differentials of the Garupa app is an exclusive service for transporting children, animals and also objects, functioning as a «Rappi» by car.

Developed in Rio Grande do Sul in May 2017, the Garupa app is currently operating in more than 700 cities in ten Brazilian states, available for use on Android and iPhone (iOS) phones, with slightly cheaper rates than Uber . Garupa is a mobility application that takes passengers to their destinations. The operation is exactly the same as Uber, in which the user must enter their origin and destination locations, viewing the route on a map displayed on the cell phone screen, so that the driver finds it and takes it to the end point in a car of his own .
Registration is done with little data, such as full name, CPF and a phone number, and you can use Facebook credentials to complete the form. A selfie is also required to identify the passenger on trips. Payment can be made using a credit card via the Garupa app, cash or prepaid credit, which must be accumulated by paying bank slips previously requested.

How does the Garupa app work and what are the services?
Garupa has three main types of service: Garupa Classic, cheaper option for shorter journeys, equivalent to UberX; Executive Croup, in which trips are made in luxury cars, with leather seats; and Garupa Empresa, which provides exclusive contracts for the transportation of employees from an establishment.
In a test carried out by dnetc, a travel forecast at Garupa departing from the Botanical Garden of Porto Alegre to the Science and Technology Museum (PUCRS), about 2.7 km away, presented a slightly cheaper value than Uber, when compared to most basic modalities, at the same time and without dynamic tariff.

In addition to traditional transport, Garupa has other specific modalities:
Specific service for the transportation of children in which the car will already be equipped with mandatory seats and booster seats for children aged one to seven years. On these trips, a responsible adult must accompany the child, and the trip costs 20% more.
Service that only offers female drivers to serve only female passengers.
Specialized service in the transport of small and medium-sized domestic animals, weighing up to 10 kg. In this mode, the vehicle will already have waterproof covers on the seats to prevent dirt, which will increase the tariff by 20%.
This modality is dedicated to the delivery of small volumes, such as cashiers, supermarket purchases, laundry clothes and documents. The driver must be aware of what he will be taking and one person must be responsible for delivery and another person for receipt. This service also charges 20% more in the Garupa rate.
Croup Student and Teacher
Offers discounts on races for students and teachers who prove their enrollment or ID card, after approval of the document by the app team.

Garupa App availability
Currently, Garupa is available in more than 700 cities spread across ten states in the country: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, SĂŁo Paulo, Minas Gerais, Amazonas, Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul, EspĂrito Santo and RondĂ´nia.
What are the benefits of the Garupa driver app?
To become a «Garuper», the driver must perform a registration through the «Garupa Motorista» app, specifically for professionals. In it, you will need to send the official documents of the driver, such as CNH and vehicle document, in addition to updated photos of the car. After an analysis of the data, including a criminal background check carried out by the application team, the driver will be able to drive through Garupa.
Drivers receive a standard payment of 80% of the value of each race. This value is the minimum stipulated by the application, and may increase in some cities, reaching up to 90% of the tariff, depending on the demand and the local strategy.
Clube Garupa is a benefits program for the Garuper driver. After activation on the platform, professionals will have other advantages besides remuneration for travel, such as health insurance, discounts at convenience stores, restaurants, clothing stores, barber shops, discounts on gas supplies and car washing, maintenance of the vehicle in workshops, telephone plan with special data packages, among others, depending on the region in which it is located.
