In both iOS and macOS, Apple abandoned some devices, but nothing so serious and that is not justified by some of the new features that have been incorporated into the systems. In general, the company still continues to offer support / updates for “very old” devices, launched up to 6-7 years ago.

As for watchOS 3 and tvOS 10, there is not much to talk about, as there is only one generation of watch and Apple TV (fourth generation) compatible with the respective systems.

During the presentation, Apple made it clear that the iPhone 4s, the fifth generation iPod touch, the first generation iPad mini, the iPad 2 and the third generation iPad * would not * be compatible with iOS 10.

In fact, when entering Apple Developer, there is no beta version of iOS 10 for such devices. However, when entering the official iOS 10 page, Apple lists such devices:

Apparently they are really off the list and Apple just made a mistake by putting them as devices compatible. Let’s hope the macOS Sierra list is right, however …

Apple has corrected the list of devices compatible with iOS 10 on the official system page and, as imagined, the five devices are out of the game.
