Dark Mode – also known as night mode or dark mode -, a function that changes the color palette used by mobile applications to darker shades, has become a trend among Android and iPhone (iOS) apps. Several services already offer the theme, such as Instagram, Messenger and Twitter, as well as productivity tools, such as Evernote and Slack. The feature, which aims to make visibility more comfortable during use at night or in low-light environments, is long awaited by WhatsApp users, who are developing the theme and should launch it soon.
In addition to applications, the so-called «night mode» was added to iOS 13 and Android 10, the latest versions of operating systems, making the feature even more popular. Check out, in the list below, 15 apps that already offer night mode on your phone.

Instagram won night mode this October on Android phones and iPhone (iOS). The theme is colored in dark gray and black, with white letters. There is no specific command in the application to activate the feature, as the activation follows the color scheme of the cell phone system. That is, to activate on the iPhone, just activate the dark mode of iOS 13. On Android, just turn on the night mode in the Android 10 settings.

The Messenger app for Android and iPhone (iOS) received night mode in April this year. Activation is done in the app’s own settings with just a touch of the feature key. The messenger is predominantly black with white letters, both in the configuration menus and in the conversation windows.

The night mode of the Evernote note-taking app leaves notebooks and notes with different shades of gray, making writing and reading pleasant, without extreme contrasts. To activate the feature, simply activate the dark mode in the mobile operating system.

YouTube for mobile also has a dark mode, ideal for watching videos at night without irritating your eyes with the traditional white background. Google Maps also has a night mode that must be activated after starting navigation to a destination. The map will adopt shades of dark blue to make visibility better at night. The feature is also useful for drivers who use GPS at night – so they are not blinded.

Another Google service that has adopted the dark version is Google Chrome. The browser replaces the white background of the pages with the black color in order to offer a better reading of the contents. Night mode is coming for some Facebook users. To use the feature, you need to have access to the new look of the network, which is being released gradually among users.
