Second version of Printworks for macOS, software focused on publishing, is released

THE Belight Software, creator of the great Art Text, has just launched the second version of the app Printworks for macOS, focused on creating page layouts / desktop publishing.

In 2014, we covered the launch of the first version of this software in a very comprehensive manner, explaining its purpose and its main features. This time, the app received several good news, already being compatible with macOS High Sierra.

Sorry, app not found.

What was good was much better: the software now contains more than 500 templates professionals for the creation of various types of files such as brochures, business cards, labels, cover and inside of discs, forms, among others all already included in the app.

If none of these satisfy you, there are still a few more templates available on the website. If you need to create banners for your social network, whether Facebook or Twitter, Printworks also offers some options for this purpose.

If you need a good option for creating magazines, brochures and more, you can now view and edit two pages simultaneously with the feature Spread Mode.

The necessary grids can now be easily customized and the guidelines have also been improved, and can be placed in a document by clicking on the ruler and dragging or simply entering a value for the exact position in the layout.

Another very good news is the possibility of having several continuous text boxes; that is, if you copy a very large text into the box you formed, the + symbol appears in red and, by touching it, you can create a new text box. So any changes you make to the first will affect the second.

To compose your project, you can also use the more than 2 thousand images clipart and 100 image masks. In addition, you can get an additional 40,000 images and 100 sources for an internal purchase of $ 10. If you have your own images, you can access your photo library directly from the app or add others from your own computer.

In order to create art with varied styles, there is a collection of titles in 2D and 3D for you to choose from in the app or import from the Art Text app, from an integration. Speaking of which, other available integrations include Google Maps and Depositphotos.

If you have a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, you will love to know that this new version is ready to be used with it, with shortcuts to the bar.

To finalize your project, it can be exported to PDF, EPS, TIFF, JPEG and PNG formats.

The app satisfies both industry professionals and those who are new to it, with customizable and simple tools. And, to further assist, there are a number of video-tutorials to make the most of each option.

Printworks 2 is available for $ 30 on the Belight website or the Mac App Store. You can also get it at a 30% discount if you are a student and if you already had the first version, you can get the second version for $ 20 at this link. If you want to test it, you can download the version trial here (DMG).
