Seagate Launches Portable USB 3.0 External HD with 1.5TB Capacity

Seagate today announced what should be the first 2.5-inch portable external hard drive with 1.5TB of capacity. The new FreeAgent GoFlex is available immediately in the United States, reaching international markets by the end of the year.

The HD is based on the USB 3.0 interface, which is still not much advantage for Mac owners, who do not have this option natively in the current line of desktops and laptops (that is, it runs at the maximum speed of USB 2.0, backwards compatible).

The FreeAgent GoFlex has a suggested price of US $ 250. Following the theme "Star Trek", it will only be available in black.
