According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung spent Apple selling smartphones in the third quarter of 2011, selling more than 20 million devices in the period.
Apple, which had been in the lead for a long time, announced its financial result last Tuesday, which showed the sale of just 17.1 million cell phones in the same period.
