The Samsung smartwatches models Gear S3 (2016) and Gear Sport (2017) are receiving a new update released in South Korea and the USA to optimize their functions and connectivity with the virtual assistant Bixby. The update is expected to arrive for devices in other markets soon.
The update brings the Bixby assistant to the gadgets, which acts as an agenda, search assistant and even music player. With the update, the user of smartwatches can ask questions to the Bixby system or ask to perform certain actions, such as starting an exercise or controlling Spotify. These wearables were originally launched with the system S Voice, but Samsung will shut down the system in June.
Additional changes include displaying icons on the home screen of applications running in the background. One touch opens the selected application, which promises to help multitasking on such a small screen. In addition, the customization of the order of icons in the Fast Panel has been reformulated.
