Announced in February, Samsung’s new generation of cell phones, the Galaxy S20, will arrive in Brazil for prices between R $ 5.5 thousand and R $ 8.5 thousand. The pre-sale starts from this Thursday, 12, and in the period customers will receive a smart watch Galaxy Watch Active 2 when purchasing the cell phones. The sale of smartphones will officially begin on April 3.

Renato Citrini, senior manager of mobile devices at Samsung, confirmed to the state that the three devices in the family, the S20, the S20 + and the S20 Ultra will arrive in the country without the 5G modem, which allows integration into the networks of the fifth generation technology of mobile connection.

The absence makes sense: Brazil is still far from implementing its 5G networks, something that already happens in countries like the USA and South Korea, some of the main markets of the Samsung Galaxy line. The prices were announced by Samsung on the night of this Wednesday, 11, at an event in So Paulo.

The main difference between the three devices is in size: the S20 is 6.2 inches, while the S20 + is 6.7 inches. The Ultra has the largest screen in the history of a Samsung smartphone, with 6.9 inches. What draws the most attention in new cell phones is the camera. The S20 Ultra has four lenses, while the other two versions have three cameras. The main lens of the S20 Ultra has a resolution of 108MP, while the other two models have 64MP.

The camera of the devices also have a powerful zoom: the Galaxy S20 and S20 + are capable of enlarging the image up to 30 times. In the S20 Ultra, it is possible to zoom up to 100 times with the help of an artificial intelligence system which helps to reduce quality loss with enlargement. one aspect where Samsung is chasing rivals: last year, Huawei introduced at 50x zoom on the P30 Pro, its top-of-the-line model at the time.

The new Galaxy S20 line is Samsung's first to record 8K video, with motion stabilization. The company has partnered with YouTube, which allows you to download videos recorded in 8K with your phone directly on the platform.

In terms of specifications, the three phones are equipped with the Snapdragon 865 processor. According to Samsung, the devices also come with a battery with a capacity 10% larger than the predecessor line Galaxy S10: the battery of the S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra, tm respectively 4,000 mAh, 4,500 mAh and 5,000 mAh. The entire line comes with a 25W fast charger, the S20 Ultra also has a super fast 45W charging option.

The memory of 12 GB cell phones, with the S20 Ultra having a 16 GB option. The S20 is available with 128 GB storage, while the S20 + and S20 Ultra have options with 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.

Galaxy Z Flip and other devices

This Wednesday, the 11th, Samsung also started selling in Brazil the Galaxy Z Flip, a foldable cell phone model with a design that refers to the flip devices, popular in the 90s. Presented at the same event of the Galaxy S20, in February, the device arrived in the country for R $ 9 thousand at the same price as Motorola Razr, a competitor from Lenovo that also has a rear view and folding screen. Two other devices introduced by Samsung in February in the USA were the Galaxy Buds + wireless headphones, an enhancement to the accessory sold in Brazil for R $ 1,000. This Wednesday, Samsung said that the new version will hit the Brazilian market this Thursday, 12th, also for R $ 1,000, in blue, black and white colors.
