Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Duos Vs. Asus Zenfone 5 vs. LG Volt: Specs Comparison

Galaxy Gran Prime Duos Vs. Zenfone 5 vs. LG Volt: Design and Construction

The Galaxy Gran Prime Duos closely resembles the Galaxy S5, as does the Galaxy Win 2 Duos. The device finish is made of smooth polycarbonate throughout, only the rear has a slightly ceramic touch. The device is not a masterpiece of design, but at least it does not have features inspired by other devices. The handling of the Galaxy Gran Duos Prime is pleasant, and its polycarbonate finish gives the model good ergonomics.

The Asus device has a soft-touch finish with protruding edges, and a brushed aluminum plate positioned at the bottom of the device. The ergonomics when handling the device is optimal, but the use of both hands is essential. Zenfone 5 is vastly larger than the Galaxy Gran Prime Duos, yet its finer finish.

The LG Volt is a very ergonomic device, and its glossy polycarbonate finish can easily be mistaken for brushed aluminum at times. The back houses the LG logo, audio output, LED flash camera and the famous Smart Button. All the physical buttons are on the back of the device, and have been given different textures so the user can differentiate them during LG Volt handling.

Among the devices in our test, the LG Volt turned out to be better finished than most. Care of appearance in the LG model draws attention. Zenfone 5 a beautiful finish, however, sins for excess edges around the screen. And in the flashlight, the finish of the Galaxy Gran Duos, which is satisfactory but easily soiled and does not show the same refinement of previous models.

The Galaxy Gran Prime Duos runs on Android KitKat 4.4.4 and TouchWiz user interface. The device does not yet have an update forecast for Android Lollipop, but it seems that this should happen soon. The RAM consumption caused by Samsung's proprietary interface is still high, and some slowness is noted during the usability of the device.

By default the device comes with version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but when connecting it to Wi-Fi for the first time the notification with the update for Android Lollipop 5.0.2 is displayed. The colors used by Zen UI and the formatting of page and menu layouts are very reminiscent of Material Design. In my opinion the Asus interface was better than Samsung's TouchWiz, mainly for its design and fluidity.
