Samsung recently announced on the Chinese social network weibo the official launch of its LPDDR5 memory for smartphones. Check out!
Recently, there was news that Micron was the first company to create a low power DDR5 DRAM memory chip with mass production feasibility. The Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone will be the first phone to use this chip. Shortly thereafter, the Chinese phone developer said it will not use Micron's memory in its next flagship, but Samsung's LPDDR5 instead. This week the South Korean company officially announced the launch of its LPDDR5 memory chip, which has a 29% higher bandwidth compared to LPDDR4X and a 14% lower consumption.
Samsung declares on the social network weibo about its release of LPDDR5 memory
Check below the revelation made by Samsung on the Chinese social network weibo:
"Samsung LPDDR5, was designed to optimize the experience at a faster speed for future projects. Compared to the LPDDR4x chip, the LPDDR5 bandwidth increased by 29%. At the same operational speed, the LPDDR5 saves 14% of energy consumption in compared to LPDDR4x RAM "
In the middle of last year, Samsung even announced that it would start mass production of the world's first 12GB LPDDR5 DRAM chip. This chip received optimizations for the 5G mobile internet and future AI (artificial intelligence) projects to be implemented in smartphones. Each package produced at the factory, contains 8 12GB chips, so that it is possible to meet the manufacturing demand for high-end smartphones (flagship) that intend to obtain the highest possible performance and capacity of the cell phone.
What did you think of the novelty? Do you think that with the use of an LPDDR5 memory there will be a substantial change in the performance of future smartphones that I turn with such technology? Comment below and share your opinion with us!
