Safe Capsule doubles capacity and increases the safety of Time Capsules

Stardom announced yesterday the launch of Safe Capsule, a RAID 1 solution (with two built-in drives) complementary to Apple's Time Capsules. The product allows the user to double the capacity of the device (up to 2TB) and incorporates data mirroring technology for greater security of copies of photos, music, videos and / or documents. It even comes with functionality auto-rebuild, with status indicated via LED.

With a modular design, Safe Capsule makes it possible for any user to easily remove, replace or update their hard drives. If you want, you can configure it to run with two independent drives (without redundant backups), reaching up to 4TB of storage. This is not a good idea, however, as we already know.

The design of the Safe Capsule is identical to that of the Time Capsule, so both can be used stacked. One device connects to the other via USB 2.0 (up to 480Mbps), which is enough to start using it. Through Time Capsule's network capabilities, multiple users can share the same Safe Capsule, which acts as a central storage station accessible via Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

The Safe Capsule will hit the market in the summer (winter in the northern hemisphere), but its price has not yet been informed by the company.
