According to an analyst at Northeast Securities, Apple has already made its final decisions about the components that will be used in its tablet and, interestingly, not to use an Intel processor. Apparently, the company adopted a processing solution developed by P.A Semi, a company acquired by it in 2008.

A product like a tablet would not use the same chips used in the Mac line, but Apple was expected to host Intel's Atom line in the production of the gadget. Previously, we learned that this category of processors had been rejected for use on iPhones / iPods touch, but we were not sure if a product like a tablet would also support an Atom processor.
Of the two, one: either Apple decided to adopt some high-performance ARM architecture and produce the chips with P.A Semi, or else it will acquire these components from another company as it currently does with iPhones / iPods touch. It is also worth remembering that a tablet without an Intel processor would not necessarily be restricted to running iPhone OS, depending on the architecture of the solution adopted and the special tools that Apple can offer to potential application developers.
