THE Crab has everything to come to OS X this year, with the release of OS X 10.12. Or in macOS 10.12; or in macOS 11 anyway, the name doesn't matter now! 😝
Well, the MacRumors shared (from a reliable source, according to them) what would be the Siri icon both in the Dock and in the menu bar yes, if we take this to be true, the assistant can be evoked equally by the two cones; unlike some other features like Spotlight and Notification Center, which only have icons in the menu bar.
While in the Dock we see the traditional waveforms that wear Siri on iOS, in watchOS and tvOS, in the menu bar we only have the inscription “Siri” inside a rectangle with rounded corners.
In fact, there will be three ways to talk to Siri on the Mac: through the two icons and speaking the phrase “And Siri”. Apparently, at least according to the source of the site, this last option will be disabled by default.
Siri's integration with OS X would still be in the early stages of development (really ?!), but the assistant would be able to answer the same queries and perform the same tasks that are now done on other operating systems: opening apps, conducting research on the web, control accessories connected to your home (thanks to HomeKit), send text messages, read emails, set events, take notes, create reminders and more.
That Siri will arrive at OS X, that is practically certain. Now, if we are going to see these same icons / design in the future system, there are only five hundred more weeks to go for WWDC 2016 and a lot can change; h, for example, the possibility that the menu bar icon is only one placeholder (a reserve of space for any icon yet to be created).
