Rumor: second generation of AirPods Pro will be launched in the second half of 2021

There isn’t even a year that AirPods Pro have been released, but there is talk of the second generation of Apple wireless top-of-the-line headphones.

A few months ago, the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that mass production of the supposed new model could begin between the second half of 2021 and the beginning of 2022; now the dubious DigiTimes inferred that the launch of the next generation of AirPods Pro may take place already in the second half of next year.

According to Taiwanese vehicle sources, the next AirPods Pro may include new light sensors, which will be used in the “implementation of health monitoring resources”. It is worth remembering, however, that the DigiTimes said earlier that such health features would arrive with the second version of the AirPods, launched in March 2019 – which it did not.

Nevertheless, they say that this novelty will make it possible to monitor heart rate, step count and “health conditions”, in addition to detecting head movements.

Also according to the information, some of the next models ‌of AirPods Pro‌ will be assembled by Inventec Appliancesin Vietnam, with current generation manufacturers (Luxshare and GoerTek) will also produce future wireless headsets.

THE DigiTimes does not mention in today’s article, however, rumors / news related to Third generation AirPods, which could be launched in early 2021, according to Kuo.

If both rumors prove to be true, it is really likely that updates to the normal AirPods and their Pro version will only happen in 2021 – whereas, this year, we would have the (speculated) launch of the “AirPods Studio”, the first circum-aural headphones (over-ear) from Apple.
