Rumor of the day: Apple tablet gains OLED model, but is postponed to the second half of 2010

THE DigiTimes today released two news about the alleged Apple tablet a good and a bad. Which do you want to hear first?

Ok, let's go good: the Mac touchscreen possibly come in two models: one with conventional LCD (TFT) and the other in OLED. The first would have 10.6 inches, while the second would be slightly smaller 9.7 inches and be produced by LG.

The bad news is that the project would have been postponed by Apple to the second half of 2010, with the aim of reducing costs. Even so, it is now rumored that the machine will not come out for less than $ 2,000 a price really premium for what is expected from the product. The LCD version, in turn, can be halved between $ 800 and $ 1,000.

There is, of course, also the issue of iTablet coming with 3G connectivity which, marketed via cell phone operators, would help to reduce its costs via subsidies + long-term plans. One way or another, it is boring that we shouldn't see the product so soon, now.

Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), Quanta Computer and Pegatron Technology are apparently fighting over the contract to manufacture the product in Asia.
