Rumor: next iPhone will come equipped with a four-core processor (A6)

Apple A6 processorRemember the A6, Apple's supposed four-core chip that would equip the third-generation iPad? Well, no one has ever seen, only heard.

However, according to the rumored manufacturing well called DigiTimes, it will finally show up on the next iPhone, further increasing the competition and the portfolio of smartphones equipped with processors quad-core.

Still according to them, the chip will be a continuation of the Exynos 4 series, from Samsung SoC processors (System-on-Chips) based on the ARM architecture.

I know this is inevitable, especially since there are already several devices on the market equipped with four-core processors. But honestly: do we, users, need all that power in our pockets? In my humble opinion, it's time for companies to focus more on battery, since this is an area that has evolved little in the last few years compared to others or does anyone here think that the iPhone 4S, the Galaxy S III or any other top- need to greatly improve performance?
