Rumor: macOS 10.14 may have a full Dark Mode [atualizado]

O Guilherme Rambo no stop! This time, he came up with a discovery involving the macOS 10.14 (whose codename, of course, is still a mystery).

The Brazilian developer was curious about the fact that the iPhone 5s could run iOS 12 and decided to investigate the source code a little more. WebKit (engine behind Safari on both iOS and macOS) to see if there was anything else there about possible news related to Apple products. And he found it.

New codes implemented in March suggest (that is, not at all certain, just indicate the possibility) that macOS 10.14 have some kind of Dark Mode (Dark Mode) system-wide, not just in the Dock and menu bar, as it exists today. According to Rambo, the code in question was developed to adapt the rendering of a website by WebKit based on the actual appearance of the application. Appearances are the way in which macOS can change the look of user interface components (such as buttons and lists) according to the assets provided by the system.

The truth is that there has been a Dark Mode appearance on macOS since El Capitan (10.11). However, it is only used when developers choose to leave the app like that explicitly. We even show here images of how the system is activating it.

There are no direct references to a Dark Mode, but the most likely reason for the existence of such an API is the arrival of it is something desired by many users, not only from iOS but also from Ma's desktop operating system.

So, let's hope!

Rambo went further and actually compiled the WebKit so he does not check the version of the operating system in order to test what he discovered above.

Great clue, huh! 😉
