Two days ago we talked about the business involving Foxconn and Sharp, the Hon Hai Precision Industry, a conglomerate behind Foxconn, became a partner in the Sharp Display Products (SDP) operation, responsible for producing LCDs at a factory located in Sakai, and Sharp Corporation as a whole.

The truth is that Sharp was going through a difficult financial time. Estimates from the company itself indicated a loss of $ 3.5 billion (!) During this fiscal year. Why, then, would Hon Hai invest in the company? According to some vehicles, such as the DigiTimes and the Bloomberg, the deal may involve Apple's future iTV.

As Foxconn is one of Ma's main partners, it would already be investing in supplies (LCDs) for the alleged product, which could use Sharp's IGZO technology. The research firm CLSA is another one that bets on this, saying that the new “iTV” should be launched in early 2013, contrary to some analysts who believe that the product will arrive in 2012.

If there is any company that knows about Ma's plans, it would undoubtedly be Foxconn. The movement makes sense, however, does not make it true.

Note: whenever we refer to an alleged Apple TV, we will call it “iTV”, in order to differentiate the existing Apple TV product even if some people don't like it very much.
