Rumor: “iPad Pro” will have 2732 × 2048 pixels, stylus with Force Touch and will be released with iOS 9.1

THE "IPad Pro" it is even becoming "something real". Rumors about him have been around for a long time (there in 2013), but they are intensifying more and more.

Now, Appsee (a mobile analysis platform), based on the collection of screen size data from heat map analysis (heat maps) and session recordings, stated that Apple's 12-inch tablet is even real. According to records, there is a new device called iPad6,8 with a screen of 2732 Ă— 2048 pixels (1366 Ă— 1024 points), in agreement with other evidences already found by a (like a bigger version of the iOS 9 keyboard created for the device) .

Just for reference, here are the codes of the current iPads:

  • iPad4,7 = iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi
  • iPad4,8 = iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular
  • iPad4,9 = iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular (compatible with China's 4G networks)
  • iPad5,3 = iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi
  • iPad5,4 = iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular

This new iPad would be running iOS 9.1, indicating that most likely the tablet will be released with the first major update of the ninth version of Apple's mobile operating system, this new discovery indicates that the “iPad Pro” should not be launched at the special event of the day September 9.

In addition to the iPad6,8, Appsee also collected records for two new devices, the iPhone8,1 and the iPhone8,2. Following the logic, of course, we are talking about “iPhone 6s Plus” and “iPhone 6s”, since the current iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 are identified respectively by the codes iPhone7,1 and iPhone7,2.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (from KGI Securities, one of the few who have good sources in Asia), in turn, released a note to investors today stating that the “iPad Pro” will go into production for real in September / October. In addition, he believes that the tablet's stylus will feature Force Touch technology, which should also reach iPads and iPhones.

Although it looks more and more real, I still can't see this product as something mainstream. Of course, Apple sells niche products like the Mac Pro and the new MacBook itself (which is definitely not a notebook for anyone). Still, if this “iPad Pro” is even released, it seems to me that it is the most specific, focused and niche product that Apple has ever created.
