Apple normally only sends official invitations a week before, so this is a rumor for now but it comes from a good source, John Paczkowski of BuzzFeed (who was from AllThingsD and then Re / code).
According to Paczkowski, the next major Apple event in which new iPhones and Apple TV are awaited will be held “the week of September 7,” most likely on Wednesday, September 9. The date would, by the way, be the same as last year.
Interestingly, Paczkowski also mentions that in this same event we can see new iPads. The expectation that the iPad mini will get a significant upgrade to make up for last year, and it remains to be seen whether Apple will even launch an “iPad Pro” with a 12.9-inch screen.
In a few weeks, we will know for sure.
