Rumor: bank manager says that “only adjustments are needed” for Apple Pay to arrive in Brazil

How about more rumors about the possible arrival of Apple Pay to Brazil? The last time we discussed the subject, we commented on an alleged internal document from MasterCard that mentions the arrival of the payments service later this year. Now, in a topic about technology contactless in credit cards, on the website Speaking of Travel, interesting information emerged.

A user identified as Marcelo01 said that it was his banking agency (Bradesco) to pick up new credit cards and asked the manager if there is already a service launch date in Brazil. The latter replied that they have not yet said anything about dates, only that some adjustments for the release are missing, which, according to him, would be basically a difficulty in identifying the card (not the flag, but the “category / model”) at the moment to add it to Apple Pay.

On one of the iPhones that are with the manager, some cards added to Apple Pay have only the bank logo, it is not possible to identify which card the card added was an AMEX Platinum but, as reported, there is no way to know if a Platinum, Gold, Green, etc.

AMEX registered with Apple Pay

Marcelo01 said he also discovered that some bank employees have their personal cards registered with Apple Pay to be used on a day-to-day basis, so that everything can be tested on the street. One of the iPhones (image above), inclusive, shows that the last transaction had been carried out on a known network of fast food (establishment that is close to his agency).

At the presentation of WWDC 2016, Ma informed that Apple Pay will arrive soon Your, France and the Hong Kong. If Brazil were really close to receiving the service, I believe that our country would be listed with these other three countries; however, there is nothing to prevent her from launching Apple Pay in these countries now and, in a few months, bringing the service here.

We're in the crowd!
