Rumor: Apple would be working on a “revision B” of the third generation iPad

Much is said about an “iPad mini” coming in 2012, but there are those who think that Apple could also revise the current one. At least that which informed the DigiTimes. Before leaving saying “but how absurd, how about another model in the same year!”, Let's analyze the news calmly.

New black iPad, sideways

According to the website, Apple carried out small reviews on the current iPad, for example by expanding the iSight camera lens space / hole a little more and taking additional steps to avoid battery heating problems.

Sources said the new iPad's battery is being overhauled, which will help prevent overheating problems and could make the device a little lighter and thinner than previously designed. However, nothing has been said about why to enlarge the lens.

I find it perfectly plausible for Apple to review some things in the design of the current iPad, putting a “new” device on the market without even communicating / notifying us. The only thing I found strange was the possibility that the changes would make it lighter / thinner. If that were to happen, it would be obvious that Apple would communicate this to the left and right, which would make a silent, discreet update impossible.

On a related note, Sharp is preparing to deliver 2 million IGZO displays in July. Does Apple have something to do with this? It is also worth remembering that IGZO technology allows the construction of thinner screens.
