Rumor: Apple will leave to promote major changes in the iPhone in 2017

Rumors about the iPhone 7 have already started, but the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (from KGI Securities; which has good sources in Asia) decided to talk about the possible news that we will see in 2017 (yes, what would the iPhone 7s be if Apple continues to maintain the current naming scheme).

For the analyst, the changes in the Apple smartphone line next year will be significant, including the return of the glass structure (as they were in iPhones 4 / 4s) and the use of AMOLED technology on the screens of the devices currently the displays of iPhones LED technology with IPS technology.

But why go back to the glass? For Kuo, Apple is actually in doubt between glass, plastic and ceramic, but should opt for glass because of the advantages over other materials (while plastic is not such a good material for developing very thin housings, the most complicated ceramic for control the accuracy of finishes).

On the display, Kuo believes that Ma will launch a curved with AMOLED technology (which accompanies the curved glass housing); the device as a whole would have narrower bezels and a more comfortable grip.

Current iPhone lineup (2016)

Recently, the analyst also said that in 2017 Apple should launch a 5.8-inch iPhone. But calm down, it’s not as bad as it seems. 😛 According to him, due to the narrower edges, the total size of the device would be even smaller than the current iPhone 6s Plus. In other words, we will have an even bigger screen, but with smaller total dimensions, which, in my view, makes sense. In addition to a 5.8 ″ model, Ma would continue to market the 4.7 ″ model normally.

In addition, Kuo predicts that this future iPhone would come with long-range wireless charging technology (which is completely different from what we see today), in addition to new biometric recognition options (perhaps facial and retinal) .

Interestingly, if that is the plan, the iPhone 7 has everything to be “just” an increment of the current iPhone 6s. If this is confirmed, for the first time we will see a renewal of the line (design, different materials and everything else) in an “s” version.

Kuo has good sources but, despite getting many things right, he also misses (maybe not in the same proportion of hits, but he misses). Let's see what comes next
