Now that there is nothing more that Apple can announce again for the iPhone and iOS (for now), the focus of speculation about the company returns to the future of Macs, which is divided between new computers and a future edition of their operating system. A part of the company's product line in this area has already been updated over the course of this year, but there are still people waiting for great news for 2010.

THE LOOPRumors says Apple will launch iMacs with support for touch-sensitive interfaces at the end of the next semester, at a company event that is due to take place in two months. It is not known whether Ma will demonstrate a new edition of Mac OS X to accompany such an event, but apparently what would determine running applications on a multi-touch interface is a combination of the current Snow Leopard with iOS.
Speculation on the subject has been around for a long time, and many tech columnists have said that Apple's next step with the Mac would be to associate its desktop operating system with a multi-touch interface. However, it is not known how third-party applications would work by tapping a desktop, nor whether it would result in any integration with apps available in the current App Store for iPads / iPhones / iPods touch.
