Rumor: Apple may launch new Macs Pro with a Core i7 hexa-core processor on Tuesday

An update to the Macs Pro line is more than expected by users, but a rumor published today by ZDNet indicates that Apple will be able to launch the new machines next Tuesday, March 16.

Sources close to the publication claim that the new Ma tower will incorporate the Xeon “Gulftown” Core i7-980x processor hexa-core (yes, six cores) from Intel, which runs at 3.33GHz (or 3.6GHz, with TurboBoost), works with up to 12 simultaneous processes and manufactured in a 32 nanometer architecture.

Considering the top models with two processors, the new Macs Pro can total up to 12 cores. Screaming!
