Rumor: 4th generation iPad Air should adopt USB-C port

You don’t have to be a big expert in the Apple world to understand that incoming iPads are gradually being updated with news that first came to Pros models. Because one of these is about to land on the next iPad Air, according to leaked Japanese blog Macotakara.

Vehicle sources say Apple will soon launch the fourth generation iPad Air and that its big news will be the exchange of the lower Lightning door for a USB-C, as the company did with the iPad Pro in 2018. The current, third generation iPad Air was launched in March 2019.

Also according to them, we will also have the launch of the 6th generation iPad mini – but this one will still keep the Lightning door. On the other hand, your screen is expected to increase from 7.9 to 8.5 inches, possibly thanks to a thinner frame.

Even with the implementation of a USB-C port, the new iPad Air will still not have several Pro differentials, including the screen that occupies the entire front part (with Face ID), ProMotion technology (120Hz), support for the second Apple Pencil generation (with magnetic recharge), more advanced camera system with LiDAR scanner, four powerful speakers, among others – at least according to the information we currently have.

If this new iPad Air will be based on the 11-inch iPad Pro, as pointed out by the Macotakara, I think it would be nice if he also had at least the most modern design with Face ID. It would be quite a jump for the line; we’ll see.
