[Retrospectiva 2012] The best apps of the year, according to our readers

Blog do iPhone

Earlier this month, we asked our readers a question: What is the best app for iPhone, iPod touch or iPad you used in 2012?

Thousands of you voted and contributed to the survey. Check out our readers’ favorite apps in 2012. ?

The voting champion was the application capable of sending messages to iPhones, Androids, Nokias and BlackBerries. WhatsApp has won the favor of our readers. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, enjoy it, as it is still free for a limited time (link).

The second most voted was the popular photo sharing service with filters, recently purchased by Facebook. And it manages to be popular even without a version adapted for the iPad (link).

Waze became very popular this year, as it partially replaces, at no cost, a GPS navigator. It’s not perfect, but it breaks a lot in traffic. We have already reviewed it here.

The fourth place in popularity is an application that indicates applications. With the help of the fun SimĂŁo, AppGratis points to one free application per day on the App Store.

The most famous social network today comes only in fifth place in the preference of iOS users. Perhaps because the application is still not perfect, with many unresolved bugs. The integration with iOS 6 may also have helped users to use the app less.

Sixth place is a free game that follows the same formula as the classic Temple Run, which inaugurated the style of characters who run endlessly running from something. In this one, you must avoid the subway tracks and collect as many coins as possible (link).

Gameloft found an ideal formula to build a great success: it brought together one of the best racing games for iOS at a low price. There, it is so popular that it ended up in seventh place in the preference of Brazilians.

Flipboard is a news aggregator that uses Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds so that you are always well informed. It proved to be quite popular with BDI readers (link).

The most famous alternative client for Twitter is among the 10 most popular applications among readers, showing that even if the original service is free, the user is looking for quality. (iPhone link) / (iPad link)

The new game from Rovio was released recently but it is already a success, joining the list of the 10 most popular apps among Brazilians and Portuguese speakers, displacing heavy people. (iPhone link) / (iPad link)

The Dropbox, Viber, Snapseed, FIFA 13, Infinity Blade II, Camera +, Jetpack Joyride, TomTom Brasil, Clash of Clans and Bad Piggies apps were also highly rated.

Our thanks to all who participated. Next year there’s more! ?
