Render of a possible successor to the iPhone XS Max with three rear cameras

Renders show another option for the future iPhone of three cameras

That some iPhone 2019 – probably the successor to the XS Max, the most expensive in the line – will win a third rear camera, everyone knows that. Apple will simply follow a trend that has already started among Asian manufacturers and it is very difficult for plans to change until September.

The big question that remains around us is: how will the Apple manage to do this without compromising the look of the rear of the device? The first option – shown in renders last week – it didn’t please much, with a huge box and nothing harmonic on the back surface of the iPhone. Now, we have a slightly more alternative… let’s say, pleasant.

THE leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, known by the nickname OnLeaks, disclosed, through the Indian website CompareRaja, renders of one of the possible projects in which Apple would be working for the successor of the iPhone XS Max. In addition to the already speculated cut with a small size, here we have a very significant change in the positioning of the cameras, which would now occupy the upper central portion of the rear surface the device.

The trio of lenses would be accommodated in a compact aperture, arranged horizontally and with the flash surrounding the central camera – the protrusion of the camera module, in fact, would be much less pronounced than in current models. Below, we would have one of the device’s microphones.

The rest of the design is very familiar, with the power button located on the right and the volume buttons, as well as the silent mode switch on the left. According to Hemmerstoffer, renders they are “100% legitimate” prototypes – that is, Apple has really considered or is considering a design in this line, but can discard it in favor of some other option, since the devices are still in the design phase.

Still on the trio of cameras of the future iPhone, it’s worth reading this article from MacRumors, which lists the main possibilities brought by the novelty. There are three: an enhanced 3D sensor, which would give ARKit-based applications an even greater power to “read” environments and position virtual objects; increasing the optical zoom to up to 3x magnification, depending on the aperture of each lens; and, finally, better performance in low light scenarios, with a lens dedicated to capturing more light sources – perhaps making the iPhone finally compete with the amazing mode Night Sight of Google Pixel 3 smartphones.
